Job summary

Hapag-Lloyd is seeking a SAM professional in Chennai, India to establish and maintain a comprehensive SAM framework across software and SaaS. You will manage licensing, entitlements and renewals, coordinate with third-party tools like Flexera and Nexthink, and support audits with accurate inventory and documentation.

The role emphasizes data-driven insights, dashboards, and collaboration with Procurement and Vendor Management to optimize licenses and reduce costs while ensuring governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS/Engineering or related discipline.

• CSAM (IAITAM) Foundation in SAM lifecycle and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive SAM Framework for all software and SaaS across the organization.
• Maintain accurate software contract inventory, ensuring data quality within SAM tools and CMDB systems.
• Track and manage software entitlements, usage, renewals, and compliance to prevent overspend and license violations.
• Work with 3rd party SAM tools like Flexera, Nexthink to analyze usage and prepare license position reports.
• Support audits and compliance initiatives with accurate software inventory and license documentation.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports showing transparency into software utilization, compliance, and portfolio health.
• Help evaluate and onboard new software solutions ensuring SAM governance standards.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Vendor Management during renewals, true-ups, negotiations providing data-driven insights.
• Identify opportunities for license optimization including reharvesting, right-sizing, cleanup, rationalization to reduce cost.
• Monitor unauthorized, unlicensed, or end-of-life software to reduce compliance risks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements and enabling automation.
• Track SaaS usage, inactive accounts, over-licensed subscriptions, and cloud marketplace purchases, ensuring proper license utilization and BYOL governance.
