Job summary

Genpact Bengaluru seeks a Sr. Analyst - BI, Reporting and Data Visualization to design, develop and enhance BI products including dashboards and semantic layers. You will collaborate with Analytics, Data Engineering and business teams to translate requirements into governed BI solutions and drive adoption.

You will use SQL, SAS and Python, build BI reports in Tableau/Power BI, and mentor teams on BI best practices while advancing cloud/AI journeys and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; analytics/BI experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on BI development with dashboards, datasets, and semantic layers.
• Experience aligning requirements with governance, accuracy and usability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, automate and enhance BI products across end-to-end lifecycle.
• Use SQL, SAS and Python to validate metrics and ensure governance.
• Create BI/visualization solutions with Tableau or Power BI and maintain docs.
• Drive efficiency and standardize BI delivery processes.
• Deliver on projects with BI PM; onboard partners and enable cloud/AI journeys.
• Act as SME and consultant to translate business needs into insights.
• Collaborate with US and India teams; present insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Optimize BI performance (tuning, aggregations, refresh patterns) for scalability.
• Translate user stories into technical designs and LOE estimates; manage risks.

Working under the BI Manager, this role partners with Analytics, Data Engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into governed, performant BI solutions, ensuring accuracy, usability, and adoption. This role combines technical development (SQL, BI tools, data validation) with strong consulting skills (requirement clarification, storytelling, training) to help drive measurable business outcomes.Years of hands-on experience: Relevant yearsKey Responsibilities:Design, develop, automate, maintain and enhance BI products from wing to wing. Including gathering clear requirements, programming/data pulling, ETL, automation, and product deliveryDaily use of SQL, SAS, and Python (future), ensuring consistent definitions and governanceEnhance BI reporting products per modification request and maintain documentationDrive measurable operational efficiency and standard processes for BI product deliveryDeliver on projects/initiatives, assigned by BI PM and management to advance team and business priorities, including new partner onboarding and Cloud/AI journeyBe an SME and business consultant by understanding business needs and performance trends; share analytical thinking with solutions translating needs into insights and recommendationsUpgrade knowledge on BI technical and functional advancements (AI) and deploy learnings on existing and future deliverables – be the SME and trainer to teamsCollaborate with US and India cross functional teams (including Tech, Finance, Marketing) to strengthen BI practiceEngage in meetings with BI PM and with internal and external stakeholdersOptimize performance of BI solutions (query tuning, extract strategies, aggregations, incremental refresh patterns) and support scalabilityTranslate user stories and acceptance criteria (defined with the BI Product/Project Manager) into technical design and build tasks; provide LOE estimates and highlight dependencies/risksPartner with stakeholders to clarify business questions, identify underlying decision needs, and propose the most appropriate BI solution (dashboard, dataset, alerting, or standardized report)Document metric definitions, business logic, data sources, refresh cadence, and known limitations; maintain dashboard/report documentation for supportabilityApply access and security requirements (e.g., row-level security concepts, permission) as defined by platform standards and in coordination with administratorsSkills:Proficiency in SQL, SAS, and Python and ability to validate and reconcile metrics across data sourcesMust have hands-on expertise in creating BI and data visualization solutions through tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI/visualization platforms and BI best practices (performance, usability, basic security/access concepts)Deep understanding of data modeling concepts (schemas, dimensional modeling basics) and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and data warehousing fundamentals (e.g., Data Lakes, Snowflake, AWS Redshift)Experience with ETL/ELT tools or patterns;
