In iRetail product development, the Squad Leader is a Specialist Java Developer who leads a self-sufficient squad of smart engineers with diverse capabilities like Java technologies, Python, DevOps, ML concepts etc. As a Squad Leader, you will be responsible for people and engineering decisions that will be consequential in building the iRetail features. Your efforts will be reinforced by the presence of a Product Owner to drive product priorities and specifications in the squad. The squad lead clearly understand the feature expectations of the Product Owner and drive the estimations and delivery. The squad will commit and deliver the iterations of product throughout the development life cycle, with focus on value delivered and adherence to proven practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, estimate and orchestrate work execution.
• Envision, design, code-review, develop and deploy solutions.
• Navigate the squad through tech glitches.
• Build a cohesive squad and accomplish the committed objective.

Experience and Skills

• Experience in designing and developing Software Products in Java technologies.
• Strong hands‑on individual contributor, expertise in Java based technologies.
• Experience in leading a tech team of 3-6 developers.
• Exposure to API first/Headless & open interface‑based approach.
• Exposure to Micro services based platforms.
• Exposure to AWS based solutions, CI/CD based on Jenkins.
• Exposure to Automation service tests and unit tests.
• Articulation skills for handling complex technology designs and architecture.
• Practiced Agile methodology and estimation skills.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Preferred to have expertise in some of the domain areas marked for POs in section below.
