Job summary

Capgemini Engineering Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Java developer to join diverse teams delivering complex ecommerce applications. You will participate in full life-cycle development, from analysis to deployment, in an Agile/SAFe environment, writing clean, high-quality code and mentoring juniors.

The role focuses on Java, Spring, REST, microservices, and testing with JUnit, Git, and CI/CD. You should have 6+ years of product development experience, strong OO design skills, and knowledge

Qualifications

• Engineering or equivalent degree required.
• 6+ years of product development experience in Java.
• Strong Java, Spring Framework, and REST knowledge.
• Experience with TDD and CI/CD pipelines.
• SAFe/Agile experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PO, architects, and team members to implement new features.
• Participate in full software life-cycle from analysis to deployment.
• Develop complex ecommerce applications using Java/J2EE and Spring.
• Write unit tests and perform code reviews to ensure quality.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices.
• Apply clean code and solid design principles.
• Work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Job description

Your main responsibilities include creating and developing complex ecommerce applications as a member of diverse, high energy and awesome technical teams focused on full life-cycle development based on Agile/SAFe.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Owner, Technical staff members, Architects and Project members to develop new functionality from business specifications.
• Get involved in the entire lifecycle including analysis, development, fixing, and monitoring of issues.
• Use the latest tools and techniques (like Java/J2EE, XML, REST, Spring, Microservices, Junit, Mockito, Git etc.).
• Do hands-on coding and proactively mentor junior developers.
• Work in highly collaborative teams that strive to build quality code and provide business value.
• Continually learn, mentor, and develop your career.
• Focus on clean high-quality code and solid designs.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Write and execute unit tests cases for the developed functionalities.
• Contribute extensively towards Code Review process and following Coding Standards.
• Contribute towards bringing new ideas to reduce manual repetitive work and bring automation into system.
• Test Driven Development within a continuous Integration environment.

Qualifications

• An Engineering Degree - B.E/B.Tech/MS– Computer Science preferred.
• Professional programming experience with overall 4+yrs strong product development experience.
• Experience with Java, Spring Framework.
• Working experience with databases (SQL/SQL Server).
• Cloud Knowledge and Hands-on experience on any Public Cloud like - AWS, Azure.
• Excellent OO and design skills.
• Expertise in Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Experience with Test Driven Development within a continuous Integration environment.
• Experience of working in a SAFe/Agile environment will be an added plus.

Required Skills

• Professional programming experience with overall 6+yrs strong product development experience.
• Experience with Java, Spring Framework.
• Working experience with databases (SQL/SQL Server).
• Hands on exposure on JUnits, GitHub, OpenShift.
• Exposure on Application Performance, Security Management.

Preferred Skills

• Performance & Security metrics monitoring.
• Knowledge on Azure/AWS Essentials, Building cloud-native apps with Docker & Kubernetes.
• DEVOPs knowledge will be good to have – OpenShift, Jenkins.
• Travel Domain overview will help align with business objectives.
