Job description

SQL Server Engineer

Location: India – Chennai

Key Skills and Responsibilities

• Install and configure SQL Server 2022 (Standard and Enterprise) on Windows Server 2022.
• Configure cross-DC Failover Clusters and Always On Availability Groups.
• Perform migration of databases (~300 GB each) from SQL 2016 to SQL 2022.
• Harden OS and SQL instance configurations per CIS/MAS guidelines.
• Conduct VA scans and apply remediations.
• Execute and document two migration dress rehearsals prior to Go-Live.
• Validate failover, backup, and restore procedures.
• Support SAT/UAT and dual Go-Live events with DLP support.
• Deliver runbooks and knowledge transfer to CUSTOMER’S Ops team.

Required Skills

• 6–10 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 → 2022).
• Strong knowledge of Always on HA and Windows Failover Clustering.
• Expertise in database migration, backup/restore, log shipping.
• Familiar with CIS hardening and VA tools for SQL and Windows.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred

• Microsoft Certified Database Administrator / Azure Database Engineer.
• Experience with banking or regulated production environments.
