Job summary

Valuelabs in Bengaluru seeks a SQL Server DBA with deep expertise in database administration, automation of routine tasks, HA/DR architectures, and upgrades. You will design and implement high-availability solutions (Always On, AGs, mirroring), tune queries, manage backups, migrations, and cloud-hosted clusters across OCI/AWS/Azure.

Proficiency in Bash/PowerShell, Unix/Linux/Windows, and automation tools is required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration including provisioning, patching and upgrades.
• Deep understanding of HA/DR strategies and Always On configurations.
• Experience with performance and query tuning using Query Store and related tools.
• Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Experience migrating databases and deploying SQL Server on cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux/Windows OS and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with automation tools and modern DevOps practices.
• Scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Excellent knowledge in SQL Server database administration.
• Automate routine SQL Server admin tasks (Provisioning, Patching, Upgrades).
• Design and implement HA/DR solutions (Always On, AGs, replication, mirroring).
• Administer SQL Server Always Cluster.
• Performance tuning and optimization; query tuning with Query Store.
• Knowledge of SQL Server upgrades (in-place with AG, DAG & Windows failover cluster).
• Security features like Auditing, TLS, backups and recovery models.
• Database migrations and cloud-hosted SQL Server clusters across OCI, AWS, Azure.
