Job summary

Tekskills is seeking a seasoned SQL Server database professional in India to manage design, administration and performance tuning across distributed environments. You will troubleshoot complex issues, implement high-availability solutions, and automate DB tasks using scripts and Ansible. Strong communication skills required.

The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in database technologies, with deep knowledge of SQL Server versions, replication, security, backups, and upgrades.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technology experience with increasing scope and responsibility in software development or database environments.
• Experience with SQL Server versions (2005, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019).
• Experience in database design, administration and maintenance in distributed environments.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues including performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Proven expertise in database design including programming languages, clustering, backup/restore, replication and security.
• Proven understanding of SQL coding to understand performance implications and translate requirements to developers.
• Expertise in writing scripts (Shell, batch, PowerShell) to automate DB-related jobs.
• Familiar with automation tools like Ansible.
• Expertise in SQL Server installations and high availability configurations.
• Expertise in SQL Server patching and upgrading.

Responsibilities

• Experience with database design, administration and maintenance in distributed environments
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Proven expertise in database design, to include solid understanding of related programming languages, clustering, back-up/restore technologies, replication and security
• Proven understanding of SQL coding required to understand performance implications and translate requirements to application developers.
• Expertise in writing scripts such as Shell, batch, or PowerShell scripts, writing SQL queries to automate DB related jobs.
• Familiar with the automation tools like Ansible
