Job summary

Nordex Group in Chennai region seeks a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to lead APQP4Wind and PPAP for suppliers, and to drive development of supplier manufacturing processes for quality and capacity. You will resolve supplier quality issues from pre-production through post-launch and act as technical authority for propulsion manufacturing.

You will conduct readiness reviews, support launches, and align cross-functional teams on continuous quality improvements and supplier performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Materials Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as Manufacturing and/or Supplier Quality Engineer in qualifying blade materials or composites.
• ISO9000/CQMS Lead or Internal auditor qualification.
• Strong knowledge of ISO9001, Supplier Quality Management, inspection methodologies and quality tools.
• Solid experience driving APQP/APQP4Wind and FMEAs.
• Six Sigma and Lean knowledge preferred; SAP proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP4Wind and PPAP for suppliers and validate processes.
• Assess and develop supplier manufacturing processes for quality, capacity and capability.
• Drive resolution of supplier-related quality issues from pre-production through post-launch.
• Serve as technical authority for propulsion manufacturing processes.
• Conduct supplier readiness reviews and launch support incl. run-at-rate and PPAP validation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous quality improvements and alignment.
• Participate in Material Review Boards and supplier performance reviews
• Drive supplier quality improvement goals and monitor ongoing supplier performance
• Manage suppliers via audits and regular contact to ensure consistent quality
• Provide technical support to receiving inspection and downstream functions
• Support trend analysis and root-cause investigations with corrective actions
• Assist suppliers with inspection validation during qualification
• Lead standardization projects and establish common supplier assessment rules

Your Task

• Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP4Wind) and Process Sign-Off (PPAP) for suppliers.
• Assess and develop supplier manufacturing processes for quality, capacity, and capability.
• Drive resolution of supplier-related quality issues from pre-production through post-launch.
• Serve as the technical authority for propulsion manufacturing processes.
• Conduct supplier readiness reviews and launch support, including run-at-rate and PPAP validation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives and quality alignment.
• Contributes to and participates in Material Review Boards
• Contributes and participates in supplier performance reviews
• Contributes to establishment & driving Supplier Quality improvement goals
• Manage suppliers on an ongoing basis via regular contact, periodic audits and other methods to guarantee consistent high quality performance on an ongoing basis
• Providing technical support to the receiving inspection function
• Supporting Operations, Engineering, Program Management and other functional groups by providing trend analysis and root cause analysis investigations, corrective action recommendations
• Assist supplier with inspection validation during qualification phase, as required
• Lead Standardization projects/procedures between all functions in Nordex.
• Establishing common rules for performing supplier assessments and standardization.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education/work experience) in Industrial, mechanical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Manufacturing and/or Supplier Quality Engineer/ specialist in qualifying suppliers for Blade materials, composites or related
• ISO9000/CQMS Lead/ Internal auditor qualification
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management, inspection methodologies, and quality improvement tools
• Having solid knowledge and experience of driving APQP/ APQP4Wind, FMEAs.
• Good understanding of Six Sigma & Lean methodology is preferred
• SAP proficiency is a plus
