Job summary

Société Générale is hiring a Specialist Software Engineer - JavaIT in Bangalore, India, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on delivering end-to-end software solutions, following Agile and CD practices, and collaborating across teams to meet banking-domain requirements.

The candidate should have 4+ years of experience in Java development, cloud and data lake technologies, and strong knowledge of REST services, SQL, and CI/CD. Prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in software development and design.
• Experience with Java stack including Core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA.
• Strong knowledge of data lake technologies such as Spark and big data.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; familiarity with Kafka.
• Cloud experience with Azure preferred.
• Proficiency in REST services, SQL and PostgreSQL.
• TDD/BDD with unit testing and mocking.
• OOA and OOD using J2EE design patterns; UNIX exposure is a plus.
• Leadership or mentoring experience a plus; banking domain preferred.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools like Git and Jenkins.
• Agile methodologies familiarity.
