Job summary

Nationwide Technology seeks a hands-on Guidewire Software Engineer to build and support InsuranceNow capabilities, integrating with business, QA, DevOps, and partner teams. You’ll configure, develop, and support Guidewire components across policy, underwriting, rating, billing, and claims to enable secure, scalable insurance processes.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in technology with 3+ years working on Guidewire applications, and a track record in agile environments.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in computer science, MIS, or related field.
• Technology experience or non-traditional tech certificates can supplement formal degree.
• Six or more years of technology experience. Three+ years with Guidewire applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support Guidewire InsuranceNow solutions across configuration, business rules, integrations, and components.

We are looking for a hands-on individual contributor to help build Guidewire InsuranceNow capability within NIO as part of the broader Guidewire hiring plan. This role will support development, configuration, integrations, defect resolution, and platform support while partnering closely with business, QA, DevOps, and external partner teams.

As a Guidewire Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high-quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by configuring, developing, integrating, and supporting Guidewire applications and related services. In this capacity, you'll help deliver capabilities across core insurance functions such as policy administration, underwriting, rating, billing, claims, and related digital experiences. You'll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document, and maintain Guidewire components including product model configuration, business rules, workflows, integrations, and APIs that support policy lifecycle transactions, data exchange, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzes, designs, configures, develops, tests, debugs, documents, and deploys Guidewire solutions according to standards in an agile environment.
• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to help protect applications, integrations, and data from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling, and techniques to support build, deployment, testing, and release activities.
• Configures and enhances Guidewire workflows, rules, product model components, integrations, and supporting services.
• Develops and supports integrations using APIs, messaging, batch processes, and data exchange patterns across Guidewire and adjacent platforms.
• Troubleshoots defects, performance issues, and production support items and drives timely resolution with peers and partner teams.
• Partners with product, QA, architecture teams to clarify requirements and deliver workable, scalable solutions.
• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Manages medium- to large-sized project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
• Collaborates effectively across India and global teams while adhering to company standards, security expectations, and engineering practices.

Education

Qualifications & Experience:

Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience

Six or more years of technology experience. Three or more years of experience working with Guidewire applications, configurations, or integrations is preferred.
