As a member of the PolicyCenter Run Team Production Support at Nationwide, you will be responsible for supporting the PLS PolicyCenter Run Team within the production environment. Your role will involve delivering stable, scalable, and resilient solutions across Nationwide’s Auto, Property, Powersports, and Umbrella product offerings. You will focus on supporting and enhancing cloud‑native and digital capabilities while driving operational excellence and production reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 3 production support for Guidewire PolicyCenter, including incident resolution, defect remediation, and P0/P1 escalations.
- Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Design and support monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability solutions using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and New Relic.
- Drive operational improvements through automation, resiliency enhancements, and performance tuning.
- Support audit, compliance, and remediation activities as needed.
- Collaborate across development, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver reliable production support and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience supporting and developing Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions.
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud and cloud‑based deployment models.
- Strong background in Java development, API integrations, and event‑driven architectures.
- Experience with Kafka, IIB Message Broker, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and deployment automation tools.
- Experience supporting production environments using DevOps and SRE principles.
- Strong understanding of Oracle databases and SQL query optimization.
- P&C insurance industry experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or related field strongly preferred.
- Six years of experience in programming and systems analysis.
- Three years of experience in project management preferred.
- Proficiency in one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle; proven ability to tackle sophisticated business and development problems.
- Hands‑on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in agile and global environments; time management and prioritization.
- Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
