Job summary

Société Générale Global Solution Centre in Bengaluru is seeking a senior Azure/DevOps engineer to own and enhance Azure infrastructure, automation, and platform reliability. You will contribute to SRE practices, implement IaC with Terraform, manage CI/CD pipelines, and provide guidance to junior engineers.

The role requires strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash), experience with Ansible, and certification readiness in Azure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Azure infrastructure, DevOps, cloud platform engineering, or SRE roles in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience in building, maintaining, and supporting Azure environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and automation tooling.
• Strong experience with scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• Experience with configuration management and automation frameworks such as Ansible.
• Experience supporting or working closely with database and OS technologies including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Linux, and Windows.
• Experience in platform security, audit support, compliance remediation, and cloud governance.
• Experience with incident management, problem management, alert management, and production support in business-critical environments.
• Experience resolving incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs is required.
• Experience working in on-call support models for critical services is required.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes is required.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications are strongly preferred, in particular Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate and/or Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Experience in financial services or similarly regulated industries is an advantage.

Profile Required

• Strong hands-on engineering mindset with senior-level technical ownership.
• Good understanding of Azure infrastructure, platform operations, and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including reliability improvement, observability, automation, and reduction of operational overhead.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code and configuration management, especially Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• Good understanding of database and operating system administration concepts across MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Linux, Windows, etc.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.
• Able to investigate and troubleshoot complex production issues and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage alerts, incidents, service requests, and production priorities in line with agreed SLAs.
