Job summary

Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) is seeking a Specialist Rotating Engineer to lead and execute technical work on rotating machinery across multiple packages, including compressors, turbines and pumps.

The candidate will develop specifications, datasheets and vendor documents, while coordinating with disciplines and vendors in LEAD roles on medium to large projects. API standards expertise is required, with FEED exposure valued.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Mechanical or allied Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years related experience; typical 18–25 years.
• Proficient in API standards API 610, 616, 617, 618, 619.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineer for machinery packages (centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal pumps).
• Develop technical requirements, specifications and selection criteria for rotating machinery.
• Prepare datasheets, specifications, material requisitions; evaluate bids; review vendor documents; coordinate with vendors and other disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Lead roles in medium/large projects involving machinery and related equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of API standards for rotating equipment and PFDs/PIDs; FEED exposure for refineries/gas plants.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, negotiation and people management.

Responsibilities:

• Shall be a hands-on engineer in any one of the machinery packages like Centrifugal and Reciprocating Gas Compressors, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and Centrifugal Pumps.
• Responsible for developing technical requirements, specification and selection of rotating machinery.
• Shall have excellent knowledge in API Standards specifically API 610, API-616, API-617, API-618 & API-619. Duties include preparation of datasheets, Specifications, Material Requisition, Evaluation of Technical Bid, Vendor document review and engineering coordination with vendors and other disciplines.
• Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Should have worked in Lead role in medium / large projects in machinery and related Equipment.
• Working knowledge of current API standards for rotating equipment, particularly centrifugal pumps, centrifugal compressors, Auxiliary systems, Steam and Gas turbines is a must . Basic understanding of PFDs & PIDs is necessary.
• Good exposure to working in FEED environment particularly for Refineries and Gas processing Plants is desirable.
• Brown field project experience is an added advantage. Shall have Strong leadership, negotiation, communication and people management skills.

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Skills are typically acquired through a graduation in Mechanical or allied Engineering and a minimum of 15 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 18- 25 years.
