Skills and Responsibilities
- Experienced Principal Mechanical – Rotating Equipment and Package Engineer with a history in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, and Chemical industries.
- Preferred experience in Sustainable, Renewable Energy and Decarbonization Projects.
- Skilled in Conceptual Design, FEED, Basic & Detailed Engineering including EPC and EPCM Projects and Reverse Engineering for Revamp Projects.
- Previous experience in design selection of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, positive displacement compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, internal combustion engines, pressure feed lube oil systems, mechanical seals, couplings and gearboxes, mixers, fans, blowers, motors, and equipment selection.
- Proficient in preparation/review of utility packages such as Air Generation, Water Treatment, Nitrogen, Flare, Steam Generation.
- Detailed engineering of process packages including Hydrogen Generation, Distillation Package, Vapor Recovery Package, TEG Package, MEG Package, Refrigeration Package.
- Review and provide guidance on deliverables like Design Basis, Equipment List, Technical Specifications, Datasheets, Material/Purchase Requisitions, Technical Bid Analysis & Report, and VDRN.
- Participate in project design reviews, HAZOP, model review, man‑hour estimation, project proposals, inter‑discipline squad checks, technical audits, quality reviews, value engineering, project productivity, man‑power planning, and mentorship.
Job Knowledge
- International codes & standards with best engineering practices.
- Proficiency in design and detailed engineering of rotating equipment and packages.
- Mandatory proficiency with API codes.
- Proficiency in rotodynamic and aerodynamic analysis.
- Expertise in equipment selection and auxiliaries.
- Mechanical workflow, interdisciplinary coordination, project management, control procedures, deliverables, risk assessment, and adherence to HSE norms.
Knowledge / Qualification / Training / Certification
- B. Tech/B.E. or Master’s degree – Mechanical.
- 15 – 22 years of basic and detailed engineering experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, & Petrochemical industry.
- Preferred candidates from reputed engineering consulting companies in fields of Refinery, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Oil & Gas.

- Presentation and business communication skills.
- Identify and report technical concerns and solutions clearly.
- Attend project and team meetings.
- Conduct technical training sessions for the team.
