Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Electrical SME in Pune District to guide the team on electrical design, HV system specifications, and power studies for pharmaceutical and healthcare projects.

You will mentor engineers, review submittals, and ensure compliance with applicable codes while collaborating with clients and vendors to drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• BE / B‑Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 18 years of industry experience, preferably in pharma/healthcare/FMCG.
• Expert knowledge of extra high voltage systems and power system studies.

Responsibilities

• Guide the overall team on electrical design issues and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Lead power system studies, transformer/DG sizing, earthing, lightning protection and cable sizing.
• Review vendor technical submittals and participate in client/vendor meetings.
• Mentor and train resources on electrical systems and ensure compliance with national/international codes.
• Coordinate FAT & SAT activities for electrical equipment and deliver design reports with recommendations.

Your Impact

Electrical SME shall guide the overall team on electrical design issues as per requirement. The role requires strong knowledge of the following electrical systems:

• Extra High Voltage System – Minimum working/design experience on 220 KV GIS/AIS systems.
• Good hands‑on experience on power system studies.
• MV/LV distribution along with sizing of equipment and their selection.
• Hands‑on experience in engineering calculations such as transformer/ DG sizing, earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing, UPS, DC battery charger sizing etc.
• Hazardous area classification requirements for electrical equipment.
• Vendor evaluation and review of technical submittals.
• Client/vendor meetings.
• Mentor/training of resources on electrical systems.
• Well acquainted with national and international codes and standards for electrical systems.
• Working experience in industrial/pharmaceutical projects.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualification – BE / B‑Tech.

Experience – 18 years.

Type of industries – Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, FMCG, Chemical, Data Center.

Desired Skills and Software Proficiency

Knowledge and work proficiency of the following software is desirable:

• ETAP or equivalent for electrical power system studies.
• Dia‑Lux or equivalent for lightning calculation.
• AutoCAD.
• Good computer literacy.
• Degree in electrical engineering from a reputed institute.
• Expert knowledge of extra high voltage system – technical specifications, single line diagrams, space planning, cost estimation, electrical protections, layout planning, vendor document reviews etc.
• Expert knowledge of power system studies – load flow, short circuit, dynamic motor starting, relay coordination & arc flash modules using ETAP/SKM etc. Capable of interpreting reports and writing design reports with recommendations.
• Ability to conduct electrical equipment sizing such as transformer, DG set, UPS, DC battery charger etc.
• Electrical protection requirements for medium & high voltage systems.
• Initiative to learn new facility types as required by clients.
• Hands‑on working experience with FAT & SAT for all electrical equipment.
