Job summary

Medline India seeks an accounting professional to handle month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and year-end audit support, helping GAAP compliance and strong documentation.

You will own key processes, drive improvements, and support consolidations across entities, with exposure to SAP and other ERP systems. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 2+ years’ experience are required; Master’s or CPA/CMA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years’ Corporate/ Manufacturing Accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and documentation skills.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Ability to handle large data sets with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Year-end audit support including SAP updates, schedules, and audit sections.
• Prepare and approve monthly close data, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Analyze operating financials, interpret results, and suggest process improvements.
• Perform account reconciliations to strengthen balance sheet controls.
• Serve as backup for corporate accounting team members.
• Provide GAAP and internal accounting process expertise across entities.
• Lead continuous improvement across the accounting function and subsidiaries.
• Act as corporate owner for key accounting processes and provide guidance.

Job description

Job Summary

Process Month-end duties including preparation and completion of Journal Entries and Financial Reports. Support Year-end Audit by creating and updating schedules to support our financial results. Perform Account Reconciliations that substantiate the values on the Balance Sheet.

Ensure processes produce correct GAAP accounting and have sufficient documentation for both the procedure and the purpose.

Own key process such Month-end, Account Reconciliations, Year-end Audit, etc. Support business initiatives that impact accounting and systems. Lead continuous improvement efforts across accounting function across our entities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Year-end audit support including updating SAP, preparing/updating schedules, and preparing sections of our audited statements
• Prepare and/or approve monthly close data, journal entries, and account reconciliation
• Analyze operating financials, interpret results and recommend a plan of action to improve the accounting process
• Perform Account Reconciliations designed to provide a Strong Control on the Balance Sheet
• Serve as backup for key individual(s) in the Corporate Accounting Department
• Provide Accounting (GAAP and Medline Internals) and process expertise to the company
• Lead continuous improvement efforts across accounting function including subsidiaries
• Act as corporate owner of a key accounting process and provide guidance and support to our subsidiaries
• Examples include Consolidations, Month end/Year end schedule, Account Reconciliations, and Accounting Master Data

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certification / Licensure: None.
• Work Experience: At least 2 years of Corporate Accounting / Manufacturing Accounting experience.
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Experience applying GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
• Able to work with large amounts of data.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certification / Licensure: CPA, CGMA, CMA.
• Work Experience: Strong expertise in at least one area of GAAP.
• SAP, AS400, and QAD system experience.
• Financial Consolidations experience.
• RDMS (Access, FoxPro, etc.) experience.
• Change Management experience.
• Project Management experience.
• International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) experience.
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: None.
