Rubiscape’s ambition to move from BI to AIat enterprise scale demands a new discipline: Spec Engineering. As SpecEngineering Lead, you will own the methodology and practice of translatingproduct intent into machine-executable specifications that drive AI-assisteddevelopment across all six Rubiscape studios. You will build and lead a smallteam of spec engineers, define the spec grammar and tooling standards usedorg-wide, and work directly with product, design, and engineering leads toensure every feature shipped at Rubiscape begins with a specification that isprecise, testable, and LLM-ready. This role sits at the intersection of productthinking, software architecture, and applied AI — and directly determines howfast Rubiscape can compound its engineering velocity advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own Rubiscape’s SpecEngineering methodology: the grammar, templates, tooling, and review processes that govern how functional specifications are authored and consumed by AI coding agents.
- Lead a team of 2–4 SpecEngineers, setting quality standards, conducting spec reviews, and growing the team’s capability in structured requirements writing and AI-first development workflows.
- Partner with Product Managementand UX to conduct structured requirement intake sessions, converting product briefs and user stories into unambiguous, LLM-executable specs.
- Collaborate with AI DevelopmentToolchain and Prompt Engineering teams to ensure the spec format is optimally aligned with the prompt patterns and agent configurations used in the engineering org.
- Build and maintain a shared spec library: reusable spec patterns, domain-specific templates, and aversioned repository of past specs that can train and calibrate future AI agents.
- Establish measurable spec quality metrics — spec coverage, ambiguity rate, AI-execution fidelity — and report progress to engineering leadership.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on AI-driven development practices, coaching engineers across the org on how to write better specs and consume AI outputs responsibly.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with formal specification languages, structured natural language requirements frameworks(e.g., EARS, Gherkin/BDD), or model-based engineering.
- Familiarity with Rubiscape’stechnology domain: data pipelines, AutoML, BI/analytics platforms, or enterprise AI deployment.
- Prior experience scaling engineering velocity at a B2B SaaS company through process and toolchain improvements.
- Published work, talks, or open-source contributions in the AI-assisted software development space.

Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering or technical product management, with at least 2 years focused on AI-assisted or spec-driven development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience writing high-precision functional specifications or technical requirements documents for complex enterprise software systems.
- Strong understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations in code generation contexts, including prompt sensitivity, hallucination patterns, and context window management.
- Proven leadership experience: ability to build, mentor, and set technical direction for a small specialist team.
- Excellent written communicationskills — this role produces artefacts that must be interpreted by both humansand machines without ambiguity.
- B.E. / B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or Software Engineering; MBA with strong technical background also considered.
