Job summary

Urban Company is seeking a Spa Trainer to build high-quality service capability among spa professionals by delivering structured training, improving technical expertise, and ensuring adherence to Urban Company's service standards.

The role requires strong spa domain expertise, hands-on training ability, and the capacity to mentor therapists for premium at-home spa experiences. Knowledge of massage therapies and hygiene standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Certification in: Spa Therapy / Wellness / Ayurveda
• Experience: Minimum 4+ years of therapist experience OR 3+ years of training experience in spa/wellness
• Preferred Background: Experience in hotel spas / premium wellness brands
• International cruise or luxury spa experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on and classroom training to spa professionals on body massages, spa therapies, and hygiene standards
• Train professionals on client communication, professional behavior, grooming, and premium home spa service
• Onboard new partners (freshers & experienced therapists) and conduct skill assessments, certification tests, and go-live readiness
• Conduct on-ground quality audits to evaluate hygiene standards, service setup, quality and technique, with real-time feedback
• Identify gaps in training and suggest improvements in modules and processes

Job description

The Spa Trainer is responsible for building high-quality service capability among spa professionals by delivering structured training, improving technical expertise, and ensuring adherence to Urban Companys service standards.

This role requires strong domain expertise in spa therapies, hands-on training capability, and the ability to mentor professionals to deliver a premium at-home spa experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Training & Capability Building (Core Responsibility)

• Deliver hands-on and classroom training to spa professionals on:
• Body massages (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Ayurvedic therapies, etc.)
• Spa therapies and treatment protocols]
• Hygiene and safety standards
• Demonstrate correct techniques, posture, and service flow
• Ensure strict adherence to Urban Company SOPs and service standards
• Train professionals on tools, products, and service processe

2. Soft Skills & Customer Experience Training

• Train professionals on:
• Client communication and consultation
• Professional behavior and etiquette
• Grooming and personal hygiene standards
• Enable professionals to deliver a premium and consistent customer experience at home

3. Onboarding & Certification

• Train and onboard new partners (freshers & experienced therapists)

Conduct:

1. Skill assessments

2. Certification tests

3. Evaluate readiness and approve professionals to go live on the platform

4. Quality Audits & Field Coaching

• Conduct on-ground audits to evaluate:
• Hygiene standards
• Service setup (bed, oils, ambience)
• Service quality and technique
• Provide real-time feedback and retraining where required
• Ensure continuous improvement in partner performance

5. SOP Adherence & Process Improvement

• Identify gaps in professional performance and training effectiveness
• Suggest improvements in:
• Training modules
• Service delivery processes
• Collaborate with central teams to enhance training frameworks

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of Spa therapies, massage techniques, and basic anatomy
• Excellent Communication and teaching skills along with Demonstration and coaching ability
• High level of Patience and mentoring capability
• Ability to:

1. Manage large training batches

2. Handle both classroom and practical training environments
