Wabtec in India is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Freight Components to lead strategic sourcing and global supplier development from India-based suppliers. The role emphasizes end-to-end management, cost productivity, and localization strategies to support global freight components sourcing.

Ideal candidates will have 10–12 years in strategic sourcing, a mechanical/production engineering background, and MBA/EMBA with CPSM certification preferred; travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies aligned with AOP and STRAP.
• End-to-end management of development, pricing, delivery, and quality for Freight Component exports from India.
• Deliver YoY cost productivity through localization, contract management, and SCRI.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for Right First Time and On-Time deflation projects.
• Drive supplier capacity management.
• Leverage India supply base for global sourcing.
• Lead localization and import substitution initiatives.
• Establish and manage long-term supplier agreements.
• Lead Strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
• Identify and mitigate supplier risks.
• Support India Freight Services sourcing strategy.

Job Description Role Purpose

The Sourcing Manager Freight Component will drive BCC sourcing from Indiaacross various commodities such as Forging, Casting, Raw Materials, Fabrication, Electrical, Electronics, and Diversified Products for Freight Components (Global Sourcing).

Key Focus Areas

Key focus areas include identify BCC source, develop required components, drive cost out, ensure delivery Quality performance against need by date, price fixation, contract sign off with key suppliers, payment term optimization, supplier relationship management primarily for Freight component business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies aligned with AOP and STRAP objectives
• End-to-end management of development, pricing, delivery, and Quality for Freight Component exports from India-based suppliers
• Deliver year-over-year cost productivity (deflation) through localization, contract management and SCRI initiatives.
• Partner cross-functionally for Right First Time and On-Time execution of deflation projects.
• Drive Supplier Capacity Management.
• Leverage India supply base for global sourcing
• Drive Localization and import substitution initiatives
• Establish and manage long-term supplier agreements
• Lead Strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
• Identify and mitigate supplier risks
