Job Description: Solution Architect
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance Python and cloud-native backend systems. This role balances hands‑on technical execution with high-level architectural design, leading engineering teams to build resilient, event‑driven microservices that translate complex business needs into production‑ready software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Design
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture for scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems using microservices and event‑driven architectures.
- Define High‑Level Design (HLD) and Low‑Level Design (LLD) specifications, data models, and service boundaries.
- Ensure all systems are designed with an API‑first approach, applying SOLID principles and clean architecture practices.
- Evaluate and manage system trade‑offs between speed, cost, performance, availability, and security.
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Lead a team of engineers and drive the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) from discovery to production deployment.
- Collaborate closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams for seamless execution and timely delivery.
- Take complete ownership of engineering deliverables and unblock team members to ensure alignment with project milestones.
Backend Development & Cloud Engineering
- Design and develop robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
- Work extensively with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Redis).
- Develop and deploy cloud‑native applications on AWS or Azure using serverless compute (AWS Lambda) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes / EKS).
Quality, Observability & Governance
- Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce strict coding standards, and actively reduce technical debt.
- Implement end‑to‑end observability, including logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting frameworks (Datadog, Prometheus).
- Ensure non‑functional requirementsperformance, security, fault tolerance, and low latency—are built into every solution.
Communication & Mentorship
- Mentor and guide junior and mid‑level engineers to foster continuous technical growth.
- Conduct and present technical demos, architecture reviews, and solution walkthroughs to executive stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture decision records (ADRs), and developer guides.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 8–12 years in software engineering with a strong background in backend delivery and system design.
- Python Mastery: Deep knowledge of core Python (decorators, generators, async programming, AsyncIO, and concurrency).
- API & Backend Frameworks: Proven hands‑on track record building enterprise APIs using FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Microservices & System Design: Strong experience with microservices architecture, event‑driven systems, and messaging queues (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ).
- Cloud & Containers: Hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Azure services (Lambda, EKS, ECS), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD automation pipelines.
- Databases: Practical experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL database query optimization.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to own and drive projects independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and consuming GraphQL APIs.
- Exposure to observability and monitoring suites (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Practical exposure to AI/ML integrations, Generative AI workflows, or LLM-based microservices.
- Knowledge of multi‑cloud architectures and hybrid enterprise setups.
