Anudip Foundation
Anudip Foundation is a nonprofit that helps young people and women from underserved communities in India gain job-ready skills and find steady work. Its training programmes teach practical, in-demand skills and link learners to real jobs, so families can build a more secure future. Anudip also works with training institutes to raise the quality of teaching, so more students get skills that employers need. This role sits within Anudip Foundation's ITI Student Training and Train-the-Trainer programme, which builds solar PV skills among ITI students and their instructors.
Role
As a Solar Trainer, you will teach ITI students how solar power systems work and how to install, test and look after them safely. You will also help train ITI instructors so they can carry these skills into their own classrooms. The work mixes classroom teaching with hands‑on lab sessions and involves regular travel to ITI colleges.
Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom and hands‑on training on solar PV technology for ITI students, covering panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers and mounting structures.
- Support Train‑the‑Trainer (ToT) programmes that build the skills of ITI instructors and faculty.
- Demonstrate how to install, mount, wire, test and commission solar panels across grid‑connected, off‑grid and hybrid systems.
- Teach basic system sizing, electrical calculations and how to estimate the energy a solar system will produce.
- Model safe working practices, including electrical safety, earthing, protection systems and careful handling of solar equipment.
- Lead practical sessions on maintenance, finding faults and basic troubleshooting.
- Prepare training materials, presentations, practical exercises and assessment questions, and help run practical assessments to track student learning.
- Support the setup, upkeep and good use of solar PV training labs at ITI colleges, following the set curriculum, safety guidelines and industry standards.
Requirements
- A diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, Solar Energy or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in solar PV, renewable energy, electrical maintenance, solar installation or technical training, though freshers with strong practical knowledge and hands‑on project or internship experience may also be considered.
- Working knowledge of solar panels, inverters, batteries and charge controllers, and of grid‑connected and off‑grid systems.
- A clear grasp of basic electrical concepts, measurements and calculations, along with electrical safety, earthing and protection.
- The ability to install, wire and mount solar systems, carry out preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting, and run practical demonstrations with lab equipment.
- Good communication, presentation and classroom management skills, with prior experience running training sessions or demonstrations preferred.
- Experience in an ITI, polytechnic, skill development or vocational training setting is an advantage.
- Basic computer skills for presentations, training reports and assessments, and willingness to travel to different ITI colleges.
- Grow as a trainer by teaching both students and ITI faculty.
- Help young people gain practical skills for jobs in India's growing solar sector.
- Competitive pay.
