Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Tracker Reliability Engineer to join our team. The Solar Tracker Reliability Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our solar tracker systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of renewable energy technology and contribute to the advancement of solar energy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reliability assessments and analysis of solar tracker systems to identify potential failure modes and weaknesses.
  • Develop and implement reliability testing protocols and procedures to evaluate the performance and durability of solar tracker components and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and quality assurance to design and optimize solar tracker systems for reliability and longevity. Cross Functional team member for New product Introductions and Change requests
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations to determine the underlying causes of failures or performance issues in solar tracker systems.
  • Develop predictive maintenance strategies and recommendations based on reliability data and analysis to improve the uptime and efficiency of solar tracker installations.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies related to solar tracker reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to resolve reliability-related issues encountered during the design, manufacturing, and operation of solar tracker systems.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and best practices related to solar tracker reliability engineering activities.
  • Work with Suppliers to assess their reliability reports and Monitor plans to improve FIT rates in the field
  • Benchmarking best in class practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred.
  • 10-15 years of Direct Experience in Reliability field in Solar, Tracker or Similar industry
  • Proven experience in reliability engineering, preferably in the renewable energy or solar industry. Tracker Specific knowledge
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, structural, aerodynamic and electrical systems (MCU Controllers, state diagrams), with specific knowledge of solar tracker design and operation.
  • Broad knowledge of Module Design and Stress Load requirements as well was Static/Dynamic Stressing to confirm compliance. UL Certifications and Modules Supplier compatibility requirements
  • Proficiency in reliability analysis techniques such as failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), reliability block diagrams, and accelerated life testing.
  • Experience with reliability testing methodologies and tools, including environmental testing, vibration testing, and thermal cycling.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to solar energy systems and reliability testing (e.g., IEC 62817, UL 3703).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis investigations (RCA).
  • Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal) with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Independent Thinker and self-motivated individual. Must be able to drive and influence Engineer, Applications, Quality and Supplier organizations.
  • Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability.

Location: The position is based at our Bangalore office with occasional travel to project sites and manufacturing facilities as needed.
