Job summary

Kintech GreenUrja Private Limited invites applications for a Solar Civil Design Manager in Chennai. You will lead civil design activities for solar power projects, review layouts, grading, roads, drainage, foundations and structures, and coordinate with internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

The role requires 10+ years in solar project civil design, strong knowledge of IS codes, AutoCAD and structural software, and proven leadership and coordination

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in solar project civil design and engineering.
• Strong experience in solar plant layouts, grading, foundations, roads, drainage and structural works.
• Experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy or EPC projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of relevant IS codes, civil design standards and construction practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro/ETABS or equivalent engineering software and MS Office.
• Strong technical, leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil design and engineering activities for solar power projects.
• Prepare and review civil design basis, specifications, calculations and engineering documents.
• Develop and review overall site layouts, grading plans, internal roads and drainage systems.
• Design and review foundations for solar module mounting structures, equipment and other plant facilities.
• Review designs for module mounting structures, inverter/transformer foundations and other solar plant structures.
• Prepare and review designs for control rooms, equipment rooms, cable trenches and other civil structures.
• Review topographical, geotechnical and soil investigation reports and incorporate requirements into designs.
• Design and review stormwater drainage, roads, fencing, retaining walls and other site infrastructure.
• Review civil drawings, BOQs, specifications and vendor drawings for technical compliance.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable IS codes, project specifications and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Structural, Procurement, Project, Construction and other engineering teams.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and contractors for design reviews, technical discussions and approvals.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve site-related civil design issues.
• Monitor civil engineering deliverables through the Design Tracker and ensure timely completion.
• Lead and mentor the civil design team and ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
