Proof-of-Skill is seeking a Solar Analyst with deep expertise in solar data analytics and performance engineering for MW-scale plants. You will monitor performance and analyze data from SCADA systems to ensure energy targets are met.

The role requires 7+ years in solar analytics, strong MS Excel and SCADA skills, and experience with PVSyst and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. On-site work with large utility assets is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in solar data analytics or performance engineering for MW-scale plants.
• Expert MS Excel and SCADA proficiency; PVSyst and data visualization tools preferred.
• Deep understanding of PV system losses, inverter efficiency curves, PID, and string-level mismatch.
• Experience using Python or R for data analytics.
• Ability to analyze PR, CUF, and lost energy attribution.

Responsibilities

• Performance Ratio tracking for MW-scale plants and CUF monitoring.
• Deep data analytics using Python/R and large SCADA datasets.
• Lost energy attribution for grid downtime, soiling, clipping, and thermal losses.
• Forecasting and modeling using PVSyst and Meteonorm weather data.
• Soiling analysis to optimize cleaning cycles for MW-scale sites.
• Prepare technical reports and propose corrective actions.

About the Role

We are looking for a Solar Analyst with deep expertise in solar data analytics and performance engineering for MW-scale plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Performance Ratio (PR) Tracking: Monitor and analyze the PR and Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) for MW-scale plants, ensuring they meet contractual obligations.
• Deep Data Analytics: Use Python, R, or advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets to analyze large datasets from SCADA systems to identify degradation trends or equipment underperformance.
• Lost Energy Attribution: Calculate energy losses specifically due to grid downtime, clipping, soiling, and thermal effects to provide a clear "Actual vs. Theoretical" generation gap analysis.
• Forecasting & Modeling: Use PVSyst or Meteonorm data to create generation forecasts and compare real-time data against weather-adjusted benchmarks.
• Soiling Analysis: Analyze soiling losses to optimize cleaning cycles for MW-scale sites, balancing cost vs. generation gain.
• Reporting: Prepare high-level technical reports for stakeholders, highlighting monthly generation health and proposing corrective actions for system-level inefficiencies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or Renewable Energy.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years, specifically in solar data analytics or performance engineering for MW-scale plants.
• Software Proficiency: Expert level in MS Excel and SCADA systems. Proficiency in PVSyst and data visualization tools (like Power BI or Tableau) is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of PV system, inverter efficiency curves, and different losses.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to diagnose complex issues like PID (Potential Induced Degradation) or string-level mismatch from remote data.
