Proof of Skill is seeking a Solar Analyst with 7+ years of hands-on experience in solar data analytics and performance engineering for MW-scale plants. The role is on-site and focuses on monitoring PR, CUF, and losses, using SCADA data and forecasting tools.

You will analyze degradation trends, optimize cleaning cycles, and prepare technical reports for stakeholders, leveraging MS Excel, SCADA, PVSyst, and data visualization tools to drive system efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in solar data analytics or performance engineering for MW-scale plants.
• Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or Renewable Energy.
• Expert MS Excel and SCADA; proficiency in PVSyst and data visualization tools.
• Deep understanding of PV systems, inverter efficiency and losses.
• Analytical mindset to diagnose PID or string-level mismatches from remote data.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a Solar Analyst with deep expertise in solar data analytics and performance engineering for MW-scale plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Performance Ratio (PR) Tracking: Monitor and analyze the PR and Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) for MW-scale plants, ensuring they meet contractual obligations.
  
• Deep Data Analytics: Use Python, R, or advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets to analyze large datasets from SCADA systems to identify degradation trends or equipment underperformance.
  
• Lost Energy Attribution: Calculate energy losses specifically due to grid downtime, clipping, soiling, and thermal effects to provide a clear “Actual vs. Theoretical” generation gap analysis.
  
• Forecasting & Modeling: Use PVSyst or Meteonorm data to create generation forecasts and compare real-time data against weather-adjusted benchmarks.
  
• Soiling Analysis: Analyze soiling losses to optimize cleaning cycles for MW-scale sites, balancing cost vs. generation gain.
  
• Reporting: Prepare high-level technical reports for stakeholders, highlighting monthly generation health and proposing corrective actions for system-level inefficiencies.
  

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or Renewable Energy.
  
• Experience: Minimum 7 years, specifically in solar data analytics or performance engineering for MW-scale plants.
  
• Software Proficiency: Expert level in MS Excel and SCADA systems. Proficiency in PVSyst and data visualization tools (like Power BI or Tableau) is preferred.
  
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of PV system, inverter efficiency curves, and different losses.
  
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to diagnose complex issues like PID (Potential Induced Degradation) or string-level mismatch from remote data.
