Job summary

Woolworths Group India is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise AD services. This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, driving automation and standards across multi-domain forests and PKI strategy.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in complex environments, strong IaC/SRE capabilities, and experience migrating legacy workflows to automated, resilient architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise Active Directory services, including multi-domain/forest environments, Group Policy, hybrid identity, security hardening, replication, PKI, and disaster recovery.
• Drive code- and automation-first approaches to managing and scaling directory services.
• Define and own AD standards, Group Policy frameworks, and automation pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership and set quality standards for the hosting team's service domain.
• Lead PKI/AD CS strategy and disaster recovery design.
• Own incidents with RCA outcome and permanent engineering fixes to reduce toil.

• Lead the design, engineering, automation, and continuous improvement of enterprise Active Directory services, including multi-domain/forest environments, Group Policy, hybrid identity, security hardening, replication, PKI, and disaster recovery, ensuring a secure, resilient, and highly available directory services platform.

About this role

As a senior technical member of a Hosting team, the Senior Engineer leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the team's services — driving the shift toward managing and delivering those services through code and automation. The role combines deep hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, setting standards for quality and helping shape the technical direction of the team's service domain.

What you’ll do

• Deep expertise in enterprise Active Directory architecture, including multi-domain/forest design, trusts, and replication topology.
• Ability to design and own AD standards, Group Policy frameworks, and PowerShell/DSC automation as code.
• Strong command of hybrid identity architecture (Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, federation) and authentication protocols.
• Expertise in AD security hardening, privileged access management, and identity governance (e.g. tiered administration).
• Ability to define directory service standards and reference patterns, and to lead PKI / AD CS strategy.
• Experience leading AD modernisation, resilience, and disaster recovery design.

What you’ll bring

• Approximately 10+ years of commercial experience in a dedicated engineering role within complex, enterprise-scale environments.
• Code-Driven Practices: Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience utilising code-driven methodologies (such as Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, or automated scripting languages) to manage and scale platforms.
• Legacy to Modern Transitions: Direct experience migrating legacy systems or manual operational workflows over to modern, highly automated, and resilient target-state architectures.
• Incident Ownership & SRE Practice: Demonstrated experience leading root-cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implementing permanent engineering fixes to eliminate systemic operational toil.
• Secure Engineering Practice: Proven experience hardening enterprise environments against cyber threats and a track record of successfully driving rapid patch management or vulnerability remediation campaigns in production environments.
• Squad-Based Delivery: Proven experience working within an Agile framework, Product-operating model, or DevOps squad environment, collaborating daily with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to deliver platform features.
