Job summary

Qcentrio is seeking an Automation Test Engineer in Chennai with 5+ years of experience in testing complex workflows and building automation frameworks. The role emphasizes Java development, UI/API automation, and strong collaboration across distributed teams, with a focus on Agile/DevOps practices.

The candidate will drive test planning, data creation, and continuous testing using tools like Selenium, REST Assured, JMeter, Appium, Cucumber, and Hexawise, leveraging CI/CD pipelines and cloud

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in testing complex workflows utilizing test automation skills.
• Understanding of Agile methodology/factory model, SDLC, QA and Defect Lifecycle.
• Experience with Test Planning/Test Strategy/ Test Case creation and execution including Traceability matrix.
• Experience with test data identification & creation/mining by querying/retrieving from backend databases/ API calls.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g. JIRA/ Test Rail) and Hexawise.
• Test automation experience (UI/API) using various tools like Selenium, REST Assured, JMeter, Appium, Cucumber, etc., for web and mobile applications.
• Experience in Java programming, any shell scripting will be preferred; proven track record in developing test automation frameworks from inception.
• Proficient with CI tools such as GitLab/GitHub; skilled in utilizing Azure cloud platforms.
• Engage proactively QA Manager regarding project statuses and risks; experience with globally distributed teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, stakeholder management and collaboration across teams.
• Java Programming: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java.
• Test Automation Frameworks: Design and build robust test automation frameworks.
• Quality Control: Oversee end-to-end quality control across SDLC.
• Continuous Testing: Implement and manage continuous testing using GitLab, Jenkins, or similar.
• SQL Proficiency: Write and optimize SQL queries as part of testing.
• Data Platform Experience: Experience with data platforms is advantageous.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work with team members and stakeholders to drive quality practices.
