Job summary

Philips seeks a Software Technologist I/II (DevOps/Configuration Manager) to own end-to-end configuration management and help define the Software Development Infrastructure for the IGT-S group across India and the Netherlands. You will collaborate with project architects, test managers, and IT to implement CM processes, version control, build and release management, and audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in SW Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 10+ years in software configuration management or product development.
  • Experience with Agile, SAFe, Scrum and V-model.
  • Strong CM skills: item identification, version control, build and release management, change management.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Experience with build and test automation tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins).
  • Experience in software development (C# and C++) and scripting (Python).
  • Healthcare product development experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, initiative, and problem-solving attitude.
  • Self-driven and able to drive change to reduce waste.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end configuration management to ensure reproducibility of released software.
  • Control changes to configuration throughout the project life cycle.
  • Participate as CM expert in development projects and maintenance activities.
  • Plan and track CM activities with the Project Manager.
  • Own CM artifacts: archives, releases, baselines, and integrity.
  • Define and maintain CM Plan and CM reports.
  • Translate software architecture concepts into CM implementation with teams.
  • Define and improve CM processes and tooling improvements.
  • Provide accurate CM data to developers, end users, and customers.
  • Carry out configuration audits to verify integrity.
  • Deploy CM process to other project members.

Software Technologist I/II - DevOps/Configuration Manager

Your challenge Are you a Configuration Manager (CM) who is able to manage the system software configuration throughout the whole lifecycle? And do you like to be a key person in defining and creating the Software Development Infrastructure (SDI) with technical challenges? Are you pro-active and someone who can drive change? Then we are looking for you!

Your responsibilities
  • End2End configuration management responsibility to ensure reproducibility of released software in 15 years from now.
  • Controlling changes to the configuration throughout the project life cycle
  • Participate as the CM expert in the development projects and maintenance activities.
  • Planning and tracking of all applicable Configuration Management activities within the project in cooperation with the Project Manager
  • Taking ownership for CM activities such as managing archives in a version control system, take care of software releasing and maintaining the integrity of baselines.
  • Specifying and maintaining the project’s Configuration Management Plan and reports.
  • Translate the software architecture concepts into a configuration management implementation in cooperation with project architects, test- and integration managers and IT, both in the Netherlands and in India.
  • Define and improve the software configuration management process (by means of introducing improved methodologies, functionality or tools).
  • Providing accurate status and current configuration data to developers, end users, and customers
  • Carrying out configuration audits to verify the configuration item integrity
  • Deploy the configuration management process and procedure to other project members.
Your team

The Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGT-S) development organization consists of ~450 people, from which ~110 people work in software development. Software is developed by teams, each focusing on a specific part of the system. The IGT-S R&D Ops team is responsible for the Software Development Infrastructure and compute cluster farm that includes Software Sets, Version Control, Tool validation, IT Security and frameworks for continuous integration, continuous (unit) testing and releasing. By ways of automation, the team supports all IGT-S system projects including the entire software development community.

Qualifications / Experience
  • At least a Bachelor degree in SW Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in software configuration management and/or experience in product development.
  • Experience in software development methodologies such as agile, SAFe, scrum and V-model.
  • A set of strong technical skills in configuration management (configuration items identification, version control, build management, release management, change management)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Experience in a wider set of Configuration Management Tools is an advantage.
  • Experience with build and tests automation tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub and Jenkins)
  • Experience in software development (in C# and C++) and scripting languages (Python)
  • Experience in working in a Healthcare Product development environment is an advantage
  • Someone who shows initiative and has a problem solving attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • A ‘lean’ person who can drive change and continuously seeks improvements and ways to reduce ‘waste’.
  • Self-steering.
How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
