Job summary

Applied Materials India is seeking a PDC Software Support Engineer to join our SW GPS team in Bengaluru. You will provide Tier 3 support for complex software platforms, troubleshooting across software, infrastructure, and DevOps layers, and collaborate with R&D, HW, and ops teams to ensure reliability and readiness of new products.

The role requires 8–14 years of experience in software support or DevOps, strong Linux/Kubernetes skills, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• 8–14 years of experience in software support, backend systems, or DevOps.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, multi-disciplinary systems.
• Experience with Linux environments and cloud-native production environments.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Act as Tier 3 expert for complex software/platform issues and drive end-to-end resolution.
• Troubleshoot backend system flows across software, infrastructure, and system layers.
• Analyze, reproduce issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive preventive solutions.
• Support and operate containerized applications in Linux/Kubernetes environments.
• Collaborate with R&D, HW, and DevOps teams on debugging, feature readiness, and system improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes, monitoring, and production reliability.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), including readiness validation and training.
• Develop tools, documentation, and best practices to improve support efficiency.

PDC Software Support Engineer

About The Role

Join our SW GPS team to support next-generation software platforms. This role combines advanced Tier 3 support with platform, backend, and DevOps expertise to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-performing systems across global customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Tier 3 expert for complex software/platform issues, driving end-to-end resolution
• Troubleshoot backend system flows across software, infrastructure, and system layers
• Analyze and reproduce issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive preventive solutions
• Support and operate containerized applications in Linux/Kubernetes environments
• Collaborate with R&D, HW, and DevOps teams on debugging, feature readiness, and system improvements
• Contribute to CI/CD processes, monitoring, and production reliability
• Support new product introduction (NPI), including readiness validation and training
• Develop tools, documentation, and best practices to improve support efficiency and reduce escalations

Required Qualifications

• 8 - 14 years of experience in software support, backend systems, or DevOps
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, multi-disciplinary systems
• Practical troubleshooting experience using agentic AI systems.
• Strong experience working with and troubleshooting Linux environments
• Practical experience with cloud native production environments: containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring, and DevOps practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Fluent in English

Advantage

• Knowledge of Kubernetes operations, monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), or IaC tools (Helm, Terraform)
• Understanding script coding, such as : Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Background in software development, testing, or system integration
• Experience in supporting global, production-critical environments
