Job summary

Applied Materials in Bangalore, India, is seeking a software engineer with 4–8 years of experience to join our equipment software team. You will analyze and resolve software issues, provide customer support, and contribute to documentation and software changes.

Role involves collaboration across teams, regular updates to stakeholders, and training of junior engineers. This position is full-time with extensive travel expectations and opportunities for growth within a leading materials science

Responsibilities

• Analyze and collaborate to resolve Applied Materials’ equipment software application and systems issues of moderate complexity; investigate high value problems and software failures.
• Provide customer software support via Software Ticketing system.
• Provide timely updates/reports to stakeholders; align with group objectives.
• Create, test, and verify Software Change Notifications and Key Feature Procedures for product software.
• Contribute to customer focused feature documentation for external software features.
• Participate in equipment software specification, design, testing and documentation reviews for customer requests.
• Assist in training junior engineers and explain product operation.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Analyze and collaborate to resolve Applied Materials’ equipment software application and systems issues of moderate complexity. Learn and investigate customer's high value problem (HVP), systemic bug or software failures.
• 2. Provides customer software support via Software Ticketing system.
• 3. Provides timely updates/reports to all stakeholders on key customer software issues. Aligns and delivers in line with group objectives.
• 4. Create, test, and verify Software Change Notifications and Key Feature Procedures for product software.
• 5. Participates in developing customer focused feature documentation for external software features.
• 6. Participates and contributes in equipment software specification and design, testing and documentation reviews as appropriate for customer requests.
• 7. Assists in training junior level engineers and detailed product operation.
