Job Description
Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer to debug software products through systematic testing, develop, apply, and maintain quality standards, and develop and execute test plans. The Engineer will analyze and write test standards and procedures, maintain documentation of test results, consult with development engineers, and ensure quality integration into scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership support in building a quality mindset across the organization.
- Maintain thorough understanding of product/process quality domain – quality planning, improvement, control, and quality framework aligned to business priorities.
- Act as team player with excellent communication, problem‑solving, analytical, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Operate in ambiguity and diverse teams to derive value from projects and set quality expectations.
- Drive industry‑accepted best practices related to quality mindfulness events, process improvement, code‑review practices, defect prevention, unit/developer test, process automation, and quality dashboards.
- Define metrics, data collection, validation, analysis, and organization‑level baseline reporting; deliver insights and improvement recommendations.
- Enforce process, KPIs, and software engineering tools adoption across projects.
- Apply knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, or equivalent quality standards.
- Audit projects using Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434 to ensure compliance with quality goals.
- Coordinate internal and external audits as required.
- Support customers/OEMs on quality, safety, cybersecurity discussions through RFQ/RFI.
Minimum Qualifications
- Post‑graduate or graduate degree in Engineering (Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field).
- 6+ years of quality engineering or related work experience.
- ISO 26262 Functional Safety Internal Auditor, Automotive SPICE Internal Auditor.
- Collaborative approach with strong problem‑solving skills across organizational and technical domains.
- Excellent software engineering skills and tools experience.
- Significant experience influencing development teams and providing technical leadership.
Preferred Skills / Experience
- 8‑12 years of experience in software quality assurance.
- Expertise in functional safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508.
- Knowledge of ISO 21434 is an advantage.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of six years of experience.
