Job summary

CSC in Bengaluru seeks experienced Test Engineers to join an Agile IT development team. You will perform functional, chain and user testing on near real-time systems where reliability and security are paramount.

You will design and execute load, stress, endurance, and volume tests, translate requirements into test plans and scripts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or related field is preferred.
• 5-7 years in performance testing with strong test processes and methodologies.
• Proficient with JMeter; familiarity with LoadRunner or similar tools is a plus.
• Programming/scripting in Java, JavaScript or Python for test automation.
• Financial services domain knowledge is highly preferred.
• Experience with Playwright, Groovy, and AI utilities is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with APM tools like Dynatrace or New Relic.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs and Dev teams to translate performance needs into test plans.
• Design, develop and manage performance test scripts and scenarios using industry-standard tools.
• Execute load, stress, endurance, and volume testing to ensure reliable performance.
• Analyze results to identify bottlenecks and collaborate with developers on fixes.
• Continuously monitor performance during testing and production phases.
• Recommend performance improvements ensuring changes do not degrade performance.

Job description

The Position:

For our IT development team in Bangalore, we are looking for Test Engineers. You will form part of a multi-locational key development feature team using an Agile methodology. You will be fulfilling tasks in (Functional, chain and user) testing in a fast paced and ever-changing environment on (near) real time systems where reliability and security is paramount. As part of the team, you will be actively encouraged to offer opinions and influence at all stages to produce software you are proud of.

Job Accountabilities/Detailed Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development teams to understand application performance requirements and translate them into performance test plans.
• Design, develop, and manage performance test scripts and scenarios using industry-standard tools while adhering to software development methodologies and QA best practices.
• Execute load, stress, endurance, and volume testing to ensure applications can handle the expected user load and perform optimally under varying conditions.
• Analyze performance test results to identify bottlenecks, performance degradation, and areas for improvement, and collaborate with developers to provide solutions.
• Continuously monitor and report on application performance during testing and production phases.
• Recommend performance enhancements based on test findings and ensure that any changes in the product do not negatively impact performance.

Education, Skills & Competencies:

• Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Performance Testing with a strong understanding of test processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Performance Testing Tools/Technologies: Expertise in using tools like JMeter (must-have), LoadRunner (good-to-have), or similar performance testing tools.
• Programming/ Scripting Knowledge: Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar languages for scripting and automation of performance tests.
• Domain Knowledge: Financial Services or Investment Banking industry experience is highly preferred.
• Additional Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues in multi-tier architectures.
  • Ability to interpret performance test results and provide detailed, meaningful insights and recommendations.
