Software Design Manager

Centum is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Design Manager to lead our software development team in designing scalable, high‑performance and maintainable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background in software architecture and design, combined with proven leadership and project management skills.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Define and drive software architecture and design strategies aligned with product and business goals.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including hardware, QA, product management and UX/UI design.
• Manage project timelines, resources and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure quality and performance.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools and frameworks to enhance development efficiency.
• Support risk management, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
• Develop the software that manages electronic devices.

Who You Are?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python or C#.
• Strong proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, RTOS (e.g., VxWorks and Integrity).
• Experience with software architecture, design patterns and system integration.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to trace difficult problems using a variety of tools (debugger, JTAG emulator, logic analyser, oscilloscope).
• Knowledge of serial interfaces and peripherals (I2S, I2C, SPI, 10G/25G Ethernet).
• Knowledge of GCC compiler / linker and debugging tools on Windows/Linux platforms.
• Good knowledge of communication protocols TCP/IP, security protocols and UDP.
