Job summary

Tieto Deutschland GmbH is looking for a Senior Developer based in Bangalore with 3 to 8 years of experience in Wireless Telecommunications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in LTE/5G NR protocol software development and strong coding skills in C/C++.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive development and maintenance of 5G NR protocol software nodes.
• Work closely with customers and colleagues in agile Scrum teams to develop solutions.
• Oversee and guide the development process including SW design and verification.

Skills

Hands-on experience in LTE/5G NR MAC Scheduler

Strong coding skills in C/C++

In-depth knowledge of 3GPP Specification

Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP

Experience debugging complex gNodeB issues

Familiarity with MAC, RLC, PDCP

Understanding of 3GPP radio access standardization

Proficiency in version control tools such as Git

Education

B. E/ B. S/ B. Tech/ M.S/ ME/ MTech in EC/EE/CS or any equivalent degree.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and maintenance of 5G NR protocol software nodes.
• Develop high technology solutions within the radio access network of the 5G mobile communication system.
• Work closely with customers and colleagues in agile Scrum teams worldwide to develop and improve solutions for the future.
• Involved in the design, development and testing of complex 5G features.
• Contribute to product development, maintenance and delivery of products including HLD, LLD, development and verification of 5G NR protocol software.
• Analyze 3GPP features for development for different subsystems and testing of 5G NR features.
• Provide guidance to teams concerning intricate design issues.
• Continuously improve system performance with quality deliverables.
• Oversee and guide the development process including SW design, implementation, and verification/integration.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality feature development.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

Required Skills

• Hands‑on experience in LTE/5G NR MAC Scheduler, 3GPP Layer‑2 Design and Implementation.
• Strong coding skills in C/C++.
• In‑depth knowledge of 3GPP Specification – specifically Layer‑1, Layer‑2, and Layer‑3.
• Understanding of Layer‑1 Layer‑2 interfaces and Layer‑2 Layer‑3 interfaces.
• Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP.
• Experience debugging complex gNodeB issues and log file analysis.
• Familiarity with MAC, RLC, PDCP, Scheduler, Power Control, SPS, TTI Bundling, Link Adaptation, GTP‑C, GTP‑U sub‑layers.
• Strong understanding of 3GPP radio access standardization of LTE/5G NR, ORAN split architecture and related algorithms and protocols.
• Proficiency in version control tools such as Git, Gerrit and project‑management tools like Jira.
• Experience with agile ways of working.
• Self‑driven, proactive approach.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as microservices, containers – a merit.
• Excellent communication skills and enjoyment of working in a dynamic and global environment.

Preferred Additional Experience

• ORAN 7.2× split or other.
• Experience with FlexRAN L1.
• Experience with Intel NIC and FEC accelerators.
• DPDK application development or troubleshooting.
