Role Description

We are seeking a technically strong Production Support Developer to join our growing medical device company. The ideal candidate combines software development skills with operational excellence and production support experience.

The primary objective of this role is to own day-to-day operational engineering activities across production applications, integration platforms, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelines. This role serves as the primary technical bridge between business stakeholders, support operations, and software engineering teams by troubleshooting complex production issues, implementing smaller enhancements, supporting cloud-hosted solutions, administering DevOps processes, and improving overall platform reliability. The position enables core development team members to focus on larger strategic initiatives while maintaining operational excellence across enterprise integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Incident Management

• Serve as primary technical owner for production support activities.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application and integration issues.
• Analyze logs, monitoring data, system metrics, and alerts.
• Perform root-cause analysis for incidents and recurring issues.
• Prioritize and manage support tickets based on business impact and severity.
• Coordinate issue resolution activities across development, infrastructure, and business teams.

DevOps & Cloud Platform Engineering

• Support and administer cloud-hosted applications across AWS and Azure environments.
• Assist with deployment pipelines, release automation, CI/CD maintenance, and environment troubleshooting.
• Support Kubernetes clusters, containerized applications, infrastructure configurations, and platform services.
• Monitor platform health, capacity, security findings, availability, and operational risks.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, architecture, and development teams to resolve cloud platform issues.
• Support environment provisioning, configuration management, secrets management, and operational readiness activities.
• Assist with implementation and support of monitoring, alerting, observability, and platform automation solutions.

Participate in disaster recovery validation, operational resilience planning, and infrastructure improvements

Application Reliability

• Monitor system health using dashboards, alerts, and observability platforms.
• Identify reliability risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
• Participate in problem management and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Support disaster recovery, rollback planning, and operational readiness activities.

Development & Automation

• Develop permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Implement automation that reduces manual support effort.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and observability improvements.
• Contribute code enhancements that improve application stability and performance.
• Participate in code reviews and development activities as needed.

Integration Support

• Troubleshoot APIs, integrations, messaging platforms, and distributed systems.
• Analyze data flow issues between enterprise applications.
• Support feature flag deployments and controlled rollouts.
• Participate in release validation and post-deployment monitoring.

Collaborate with development teams to improve operational supportability.

Skill Requirements

Primary Skills (Must Have)

• Strong software development experience using Scala, Go, Java, Python, Node.js, or similar languages.
• Production application support and troubleshooting experience.
• AWS and Azure cloud platform experience.
• Kubernetes and Docker administration and troubleshooting experience.
• CI/CD pipeline support and DevOps practices.
• Cloud automation and scripting.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana.
• Strong understanding of APIs, messaging systems, enterprise integration patterns, and distributed systems.
• Ability to analyze and modify production application code.
• Experience implementing software fixes and smaller enhancement requests.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work directly with business users to diagnose issues and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Qualifications And Education Requirements
