Job summary

Google Hyderabad is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for Payments Platform to lead a team of engineers, drive delivery of payments features, and influence platform architecture. You will own project goals, collaborate with product and design, and mentor engineers across multiple teams, balancing technical leadership with people management in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers working on bringing new payment protocols to Payments Platform, streamlining the purchase experience as well as optimizing the payment success rate.
• Influence and own decisions regarding integration of FoPs (Form of Payments like bank accounts, UPI, etc) in platform in XFT and partners.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of end to end solutions for bringing new FoPs, improved user experiences and optimizations to Payments Platform.
• Communicate and collaborate with the US counterpart SWEs, Leads across cross functional teams as needed.
• Full stack development platform for FoPs and buyflows using FoPs.
