Job summary

Siemens in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Engineer for TCMS to develop control software for rail vehicles. You will define system requirements, design safety-critical software, and support verification and integration with end-to-end responsibility.

The role requires domain knowledge of locomotive/train control, experience with TRDP/MVB/WTB and Ethernet protocols, and strong requirement engineering skills. Expect collaboration with peers and potential travel within India.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Science with 5–8 years of rolling stock experience.
  • Domain knowledge of locomotive/train control, testing and commissioning.
  • Experience with TRDP, MVB, WTB, and Ethernet communication protocols.
  • Strong requirement engineering expertise is required.
  • Familiarity with IEC 50128, IEC 61131 and IEC 61375 standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and ability to guide peers.

Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements and interface specifications for vehicle control.
  • Design and implement software components for safety-relevant systems.
  • Create control functions from functional block diagrams.
  • Generate software test specifications, perform code reviews, and support verification.
  • Support integration tests and validation tests.
  • Analyze diagnostics, fix bugs, and define new control logic to improve performance.
  • Build TCMS concepts for locomotive/trains at the vehicle level.
  • Handle upgrades/new work with end-to-end responsibility using the V-model.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and service colleagues.
  • Act as problem solver and ensure application of correct standards.
  • Work independently on TCMS subsystems and create logic block diagrams.
  • Having braking system understanding and brakes software experience would be advantageous.

Job description

We are looking for Software Engineer Trains - TCMS

As a Software Engineer - Train control, you will be responsible developing control software for our innovative rail vehicles. Your task, and responsibilities are as follows:

You'll make a difference by
  • Definition of system requirements and system interface specifications for vehicle control.
  • You design and implement software components in alignment with the guidelines for safety-relevant software systems.
  • Designing control functions based on functional block diagrams.
  • Generating software test specifications, conduct code review and support in design verification.
  • You should support in integration tests and validation tests.
  • Analyzing diagnostic information, bug fixing and defining new control logics to improve the vehicle performance.
  • You are capable to build TCMS concepts for locomotive / trains on vehicle level
  • You should be able to implement upgradation / new work of application software with end-to-end responsibility using V model approach.
  • You should conduct training sessions for customer and service colleagues.
  • You act as problem solver, ensuring application of correct standards.
  • You are responsible to work independently on several TCMS subsystems also create logic block diagrams for it.
  • Having experience on Brakes system understanding and Brakes Software development would be an advantage
Desired Skills:
  • bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in electrical, electronic or computer science with 5-8 years of relevant rolling stock experience.
  • Domain knowledge of locomotive/ train control, testing and commissioning.
  • Experience in working with TRDP, MVB, WTB, Ethernet communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience with requirement engineering is prerequisite.
  • Good understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375 etc.
  • Good communication and presentation skills complete your profile.
  • You should demonstrate strong teamwork and be able to guide peers to bring out required results.

This role is based in Bangalore. You might be required to visit other locations within India and outside.
