Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Bangalore is seeking a Software Engineer – Train Control (TCMS) to develop control software for rail vehicles and ensure safety-compliant design.

You will define system requirements, design components, run tests, and support integration with the V-model and EN 50657 standards. The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and effective problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, electronic, or computer science.
  • 5–8 years of rolling stock experience.
  • Domain knowledge of locomotive/train control, testing and commissioning.
  • Experience with MVB, WTB, Ethernet protocols; TRDP is an advantage.
  • Strong requirement engineering skills.
  • Knowledge of IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375 standards.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and ability to guide peers.

Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements and interface specifications for vehicle control.
  • Design and implement software components per safety guidelines.
  • Design control functions based on functional block diagrams.
  • Generate software test specifications, conduct code reviews, and support design verification.
  • Support integration and validation tests.
  • Analyze diagnostic information, fix bugs, and define new control logic to improve vehicle performance.
  • Build TCMS concepts for locomotive/trains at the vehicle level.
  • Implement upgrades and new application software with end‑to‑end responsibility following the V‑model and EN 50657 standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and service colleagues.
  • Act as problem solver, ensuring application of correct standards.
  • Work independently on several TCMS subsystems and create logic block diagrams as needed.

Software Engineer – Train Control (TCMS)

As a Software Engineer – Train Control you will develop control software for our innovative rail vehicles and be responsible for the following tasks:

Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, electronic, or computer science with 5–8 years of relevant rolling stock experience.
  • Domain knowledge of locomotive/train control, testing, and commissioning.
  • Experience with MVB, WTB, Ethernet communication protocols; knowledge of TRDP is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience with requirement engineering.
  • Good understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375, etc.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and ability to guide peers to achieve results.
Location & Benefits
