Job summary

NetApp seeks a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our API Platform Engineering team. You will independently design, develop, validate, and deliver scalable cloud-native services and APIs, championing quality across the organization.

You will collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, and Quality Engineering to influence technical direction, drive automation, and ensure secure, reliable, thoroughly tested solutions.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of software development experience.
• Strong Node.js and Python production-grade software skills.
• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS.
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
• Knowledge of design principles, scalability, performance, reliability, and testing.
• QA automation and test framework development using Python/JavaScript/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery from design through deployment and production support.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services with Node.js and Python.
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks for REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, backend services, and cloud-native applications.
• Develop automated functional, integration, regression, contract, and end-to-end tests.
• Define API design, quality standards, and release readiness criteria.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve test efficiency.
• Build, deploy, and support cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Troubleshoot production and customer-reported issues and implement long-term fixes.
• Perform root cause analysis for test failures and defects and strengthen automation coverage.
• Contribute to CI/CD, observability, operational readiness, and production support activities.

Job Summary

Job Requirements

• 4-7 years of software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Node.js and Python with experience building production‑quality software.
• Hands‑on experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience building cloud‑native applications using AWS.
• Good understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, scalability, performance optimization, reliability, and testing practices.
• Hands‑on experience in QA automation and test framework development using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of features, from design and development to testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Python.
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks for REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, backend services, and cloud‑native applications.
• Develop automated functional, integration, regression, contract, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Design and enhance RESTful and GraphQL APIs for internal and customer‑facing applications.
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, reliability, performance, and security.
• Define test strategies, quality standards, coverage requirements, and release readiness criteria.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve test execution efficiency and reporting.
• Build, deploy, and support cloud‑native applications on AWS.

Education
