Job summary

Solugenix is seeking a Software Engineer (MEAN/ MERN & AI) to join our Hyderabad/Indore/Bangalore engineering teams. The role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting scalable, secure, cloud-native software solutions with emphasis on AI/ML and LLM-based capabilities.

You will collaborate with leads, product owners, and cross-functional teams in a Scaled Agile environment to deliver high-quality software and ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of overall experience in software development.
• Strong hands-on programming with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with MEAN/MERN stacks and AI/ML features.
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native patterns.
• Knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, and Agile at Scale.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Software Engineer (MEAN/ MERN & AI) to join our engineering squad and contribute to the design, development, implementation, and support of highly scalable, performant, secure, and cloud-native software solutions.

The role is hands-on and requires at least an intermediate level of experience in solution delivery principles, strong software engineering fundamentals along with experience in AI/ML and LLM-based solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with Lead Software Engineers, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams within a Scaled Agile environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, delivery-focused, technically strong, and passionate about building modern software solutions using emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and translate solution requirements into effective technical implementations.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable software applications and services.
• Develop AI/ML-backed services and user-facing features using appropriate technologies and architectural patterns.
• Translate business problems into suitable solution approaches, including: LLM-based solutions, Rules + ML hybrid solutions, Traditional software engineering patterns.
• Develop and maintain APIs and microservices supporting AI capabilities with appropriate reliability, scalability, security, and observability.
• Build LLM-powered capabilities such as: Summarization, Classification, Information extraction, Semantic search, Q&A, Copilots and virtual assistants, Workflow automation.
• Implement modern LLM orchestration techniques including prompt engineering, tool/function calling, RAG, and agentic patterns where appropriate.
• Evaluate AI/model outputs for accuracy, safety, consistency, and reliability, including automated evaluation and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable, and production-quality code and actively participate in peer code reviews.
• Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests and follow test-driven development practices where applicable.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and production issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing applications through code refactoring, performance optimisation, and engineering improvements.
• Follow engineering best practices, coding standards, design patterns, security practices, and SDLC processes.
• Work closely with Lead Software Engineers and other squad members to deliver technical solutions.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to the broader technology community through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Build strong working relationships across engineering, product, architecture, QA, and business teams.

Required Technical Skills:

• 6–9 years of overall experience.
• Strong hands‑on programming experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript, with in-depth expertise in at least one.
• Strong experience with one or more modern development frameworks: Angular, React, Node.js, Express.js
• Strong experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
• Experience with Unit Testing and Integration Testing is also essential
• Strong experience working with an ORM Framework including the use of TSQL and NOSQL databases such as MSSQL and MongoDB
• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of SDLC processes and practices and experience with some or all of Confluence, JIRA, ADO, Github etc.
• Experience working with the MEAN or MERN stack.
• Proven experience in the remediation of SAST/DAST findings
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Some experience with cloud native software architectures
• Some experience or knowledge of working with Agile at Scale, Lean and Continuous
• Delivery approaches such as Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development and Infrastructure as Code.
• The ability to apply Patterns and Practices to real world use cases.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a remote Agile team.

Good to have:

• Experience of Drupal or Camunda would be beneficial.
