Job summary

FlytBase in Pune, India is offering an internship in Software Development. You will join an AI-native team building the physical AI layer for autonomous drone-in-a-box operations and ship real features from day one.

This role targets students who want to ship code that runs on drones in the real world. We expect you to be pursuing or have completed a CS/engineering degree, with strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, and familiarity with Python/Node.js/Go/Java.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
• Familiar with at least one programming language (Python, Node.js, Go, Java).
• Willing to learn AI coding tools as part of daily workflow.
• Able to ship real code in a fast, iterative environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend services or frontend dashboards under guidance of senior engineers.
• Use AI coding tools as daily co-engineers, not as a crutch.
• Gain exposure across backend, cloud, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Prototype quickly, take feedback, and turn it into working code.
• Collaborate with robotics, AI, and product teams to move features from idea to production.

The Role

We’re not looking for interns who wait to be told what to do. We want AI-native builders who can jump into a real codebase, ship meaningful features, and learn by doing — using AI copilots and modern dev tools from day one. This isn't a "shadow the team" internship. You’ll write code that ships, debug real issues, and contribute to systems that power live autonomous missions globally.

What You’ll Own

• Build & Ship → Work on real backend services, APIs, or frontend dashboards under the guidance of senior engineers — not toy projects.
• AI-Native Development → Use Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and other AI coding tools as your daily co-engineer, not an occasional crutch.
• Learn Systems Thinking → Get exposure across backend, cloud, integrations, and distributed systems instead of being boxed into one narrow task.
• Move Fast, Iterate → Prototype quickly, take feedback, and turn it into working code.
• Cross-Team Exposure → Collaborate with engineers across robotics, AI, and product to see how features go from idea to production.

Best Suited For

• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid fundamentals in data structures/algorithms and at least one programming language (Python, Node.js, Go, Java, etc.).
• Comfort with — or eagerness to learn — AI coding tools as part of your default workflow.
• A builder's mindset: you'd rather ship something imperfect and improve it than wait for the "right" way to do it.
• Curiosity and speed — you pick up new tools and stacks fast without needing hand-holding.
