Job summary

Walmart Global Tech India is hiring a full‑stack software engineer to design, build and deploy scalable microservices‑driven solutions. You will work with Java, React, JavaScript, HTML and cloud platforms across global teams, focusing on quality, performance and rapid delivery.

You will partner with product managers and architects, participate in design discussions and mentor juniors, while embracing Agile and DevOps practices in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or related area.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience; strong CS fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Java, React, JavaScript, HTML and microservices.

About Team

Search Team at Walmart is responsible for driving the e-commerce Search across multiple Walmart sites. We work in an ever-changing environment and use cutting‑edge technologies to solve complex business problems. At Walmart, we work across borders, and with no limits. As a member of this team, you would be working on the e-commerce search platform team for Marketplace. Marketplace is the gateway to Third‑Party sellers; we enable them to manage their catalogue, order fulfilment, return & refund management. We are the interface to all Third‑Party sellers at Walmart. What you’ll do

• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
• Drive the success of the implementation by applying technical skills to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives.
• Build, test and deploy cutting‑edge solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide.
• Guide team members and mentor them to follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting quality, speed, innovation and creating impact.
• Work with senior leadership and enterprise architects to chart out the future roadmap of the products.
• Participate in hiring and building teams to enable them to be high‑performing agile teams.
• Interact closely for requirements with Business owners and technical teams both within India and across the globe.
• Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configuration tools for faster development and deployment cycles.
• Work with engineering & product team to create high‑level and low‑level designs, involve in design discussions and technical feasibility studies.

What you’ll bring

• 2–6 years of experience as a full‑stack developer designing and developing highly scalable applications and platform development in product‑based companies or R&D divisions.
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• Proficiency with technologies such as Java, React, JavaScript, HTML, Microservices, Distributed Systems.
• Experience in cloud architecture, microservices architecture and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with event‑based system processing such as Kafka.
• Experience in deploying solutions on cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
• Working knowledge of SQL/No‑SQL and database technologies (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in testing frameworks like JUnit.
• Strong hands‑on development skills to prototype technical & innovative solutions.
• Ability to balance the long‑term "big picture" and short‑term implications of design decisions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building; ability to influence and persuade without direct control.
• Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology.
• Experience in Java, React, JavaScript, HTML, Microservices, Distributed Systems, design & architecture, data structures & algorithms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
