Job Description Summary

Responsible for coding, unit testing, building high‑performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart‑International customers in the areas of supply chain management and customer experience.

About Team

Collaborates with Walmart International, which operates over 5,900 retail units outside the United States under 55 banners in 26 countries including Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Code, unit test, and build high‑performance, scalable applications for millions of Walmart‑International customers.
• Design and develop backend engineering platform solutions.

Expectations

• Intellectually curious engineer passionate about domain/technology.

Qualifications

• 6‑10 years total experience, with 6+ years in backend engineering platform development.
• 6+ years of experience in Java technologies, distributed systems and large‑scale application development and design.
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka and Cassandra.
• Experience with containerization technology and microservices.
• Well versed in CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of Java, multithreading, data structures, algorithms and design patterns; capable of building robust, high‑performance, scalable applications.
• Strong technical background with the capability of being hands‑on and ability to mentor top individual technical talent.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 1 year’s experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
