Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an application/system engineer for its Global Information Security team in Mumbai. You will provide hands-on deployment and support for security applications in Microsoft Windows and RHEL environments.

Responsibilities include researching, designing, and implementing security technologies, maintaining vendor and in-house apps, and scripting API calls for bulk transactions. Strong Python/PowerShell scripting and OpenShift/CI/CD experience required.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech / ME/MTech / BSc/MSc/BCA/MCA in IT/CS preferred.
• 4-7 years of experience in application/system engineering or related roles.
• Strong scripting/automation using Python or PowerShell.
• Experience in Windows and RHEL server support and access systems.
• Experience in container deployment and OpenShift; CI/CD with security integrations.

Responsibilities

• Product engineering support for security applications and homegrown tools.
• Maintain release currency for vendor software and internal apps.
• Address vulnerability and blocked/unsupported technology issues; ensure governance tasks.
• Script vendor API calls to automate bulk transactions and monitoring.
• Create SQL queries and analyze application data; respond to and build Splunk queries.
• Develop Ansible playbooks for automated RHEL VM actions; document lessons learned.

Job Description* We invite you to join the Global Information Security (GIS) team at Bank of America as an application/system engineer. In this role, you will utilize the experience you have gained throughout your career to provide hands‑on operational deployment and support for commercial and custom software applications. This is an individual contributor role, working within Microsoft and RHEL environments.

Responsibilities include researching, designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting information security technologies. Primary duties will require use of in‑depth technical knowledge to manage and enhance both vendor and internally developed applications.

• Complete enterprise governance and compliance tasks
• Scripting vendor API calls to manage bulk transactions
• Performing application analysis using SQL queries
• Responding to and creating Splunk queries for application logs
• Creating Ansible playbooks to automated RHEL VM support actions
• Tracking issues for engineering and vendor support
• Contribute to team and enterprise support documentation

Requirements*

• Education* B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)
• Certifications If Any : NA
• Experience Range* 4-7 years
• Foundational skills*
• Mastery of developing scripting/automation using Python or PowerShell
• Experience in any other scripting languages would be advantage
• Managed code development experience with .NET and/or Java
• Ability to understand schemas and create SQL statements
• Experience in patch management on hosted middleware
• Experience in Systems Engineering and Deployment
• Experience in container deployment and configuration using OpenShift
• Experience of CI/CD pipeline process, including security integrations
• Experience managing an Invicti deployment
• Desired skills
• Understanding of complex environments, their sub‑components, concepts, and interactions
• Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight
• Strong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking
• Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, various SANS
• Experience in automating support and deployment processes using Terraform
• Proficient in Windows and RHEL server support and access systems
• Expertise in product engineering support
• Expertise in Application Management and Support on virtual machines on premise
• Ability to identify, analyze and resolve risk to the organization
• Ability to effectively communicate to stakeholders with varying degrees of technical understanding
• Ability to work across management levels and lead technical peers
