Job summary

Bank of America in India (Chennai/Hyderabad) seeks a Senior Java Developer to join the Identity and Access Management domain within Cyber Security. You will develop scalable web applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams to design new features, refactor legacy code, and ensure high quality through code reviews and best practices.

The role requires 8+ years in Java, Spring, and full-stack capabilities, with familiarity in microservices, containers, and security concepts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Java development for large and complex enterprise applications (JDK 8+ and Spring)
• Strong understanding of Java, Spring Frameworks and RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks
• Experience with database technologies: SQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Thorough understanding of authentication/authorization, session management with OAuth/OIDC/FIDO
• Solid background in system architecture, load balancing, TLS and PKI concepts
• Proficiency using Git, Maven, Jenkins, JIRA
• Familiarity with agile/scrum and microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, then design and build new features
• Refactor/redesign legacy code base
• Build responsive user interfaces with React/Angular/Vue.js

Process Overview*

The Global Information Security (GIS) is responsible for protecting Bank information systems, confidential and proprietary data, and customer information. Cyber Security technology function is responsible of development and maintenance of security products across Bank of America. Team works on various security products and also develops in-house products.

Job Description*

The individual will be part of Identity and Access management domain within Cyber Security technology team that are responsible for the ongoing development of applications that provides Bank of America users with developing products that help enforce IAM controls. We are heavily invested in process automation and want to leverage the candidate’s expertise to shift left in testing to drive higher quality and enable more frequent releases.

Role Description - This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. These individuals possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.

Primary Level of Engagement: Works as a team member under supervision from a more senior domain expert.

• Proficiency using software development tools: GIT, Maven, Jenkins, JIRA

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to microservices architecture.
