Insurity is hiring Software Engineer I to contribute to full-scope development tasks, enhancements, and defect resolution. The successful candidate will work with a fast-paced engineering team and adhere to coding standards while learning quickly and collaborating across functions.

Ideal for developers with 2–4 years of web and software development experience, proficient in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and OO languages (.NET/C#, Java, C++).

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in software development.
• Web development skills: HTML, JavaScript, CSS with strong SQL experience.
• Object Oriented Programming experience in .NET (C# or VB), Java, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement technical solutions for defects and basic enhancements with minimal supervision.
• Apply analytical thinking, attention to detail, and robust testing approaches.
• Provide estimation input for solutions and work items.
• Develop and implement testing approaches, including automation where appropriate.
• Prepare code comments and technical documentation for stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced engineering team.

Insurity’s Next Software Engineer I

A Software Engineer I is responsible for delivering full-scope development work, including but not limited to enhancements, defect resolution, and assigned technical tasks. Needs minimal supervision while maintaining quality, reliability, and adherence to coding standards. The ideal person for this role is a dependable and technically curious team player who can work independently, learn quickly and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced engineering team.

What Our Software Engineer I Will Do

• Define and implement technical solutions for defects and basic enhancements with minimal supervision
• Apply strong analytical thinking, critical thinking, and attention to detail
• Provide estimation input for solutions/work items
• Develop and implement testing approaches as part of all solutions (including automation where appropriate)
• Prepare code comments, impact assessments, and supporting technical documentation
• Work effectively both independently and collaboratively across the team
• Prepare and present findings to all stakeholders, including customers as needed
• Manage work through planning, prioritization, organization, and follow-through
• Follow existing Insurity standards for coding and documentation (or set new standards where needed)

Who We’re Looking For

• Recommended: 2-4 years of experience in software development
• Web Development skills (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) coupled with Strong SQL experience
• Object Oriented Programming language experience (.NET – C# or VB, JAVA, C++)
• Strong written and oral English communication skills
• Comfortable to participate in calls for item resolution if necessary
• Ability to travel up to 25% (travel is minimal)

Nice To Have

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or similar
• Experience with Visual Studio, MS Office, Scrum/agile tools (JIRA)
