Job summary

Insurity is hiring a Software Engineer I in India to deliver full-scope development work, including enhancements and defect resolution, with minimal supervision. The role emphasizes quality, coding standards, and collaborative work within a fast-paced engineering team.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of software development experience, strong HTML/JavaScript/CSS and SQL skills, and proficiency in OO languages such as C#, Java, or C++.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in software development.
• Web Development skills HTML, JavaScript, CSS coupled with strong SQL experience.
• Object Oriented Programming language experience (.NET - C# or VB, Java, C++).
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.
• Comfortable to participate in calls for item resolution if necessary.
• Ability to travel up to 25% (travel is minimal).

Responsibilities

• Define and implement technical solutions for defects and basic enhancements with minimal supervision.
• Apply strong analytical thinking, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Provide estimation input for solutions/work items.
• Develop and implement testing approaches as part of all solutions including automation where appropriate.
• Prepare code comments, impact assessments, and supporting technical documentation.
• Work effectively both independently and collaboratively across the team.
• Prepare and present findings to all stakeholders, including customers as needed.
• Manage work through planning, prioritization, organization, and follow-through.
• Follow existing Insurity standards for coding and documentation or set new standards where needed.

A Software Engineer I is responsible for delivering full-scope development work, including but not limited to enhancements, defect resolution, and assigned technical tasks. Needs minimal supervision while maintaining quality, reliability, and adherence to coding standards. The ideal person for this role is a dependable and technically curious team player who can work independently, learn quickly and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced engineering team.
