Insurity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to independently deliver full-scope development work, including enhancements and defect resolution, with minimal supervision. You will own tasks through the lifecycle and review peers to ensure quality and standards.

Insurity’s Next Senior Software Engineer 1

A Senior Software Engineer I independently delivers full-scope development work, including enhancements and defect resolution, with minimal supervision. They take ownership of assigned tasks throughout the software development lifecycle and can review the work of other developers, provide constructive feedback while ensure adherence to coding standards, quality expectations, and best practices. This role is also responsible for identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency using technology, automation, and process improvements, contributing to continuous innovation and enhanced team performance.

What Our Senior Software Engineer 1 Will Do

• Define, design, and implement technical solutions for items
• Build design proposals and prototyping support for new problem spaces and first-time development of moderate to complex solutions or new & emerging technology
• Provide technical troubleshooting, defect investigation, remediation, and root-cause analysis of items
• Provide estimation and planning input for projects/solutions/work items
• Develop and implement testing approaches as part of all solutions (including automation where appropriate)
• Develop documentation for software solutions for targeted audiences, which may include internal and external customers
• Provide peer-review of designs, code, and artifact delivery
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members
• Prepare and present to all stakeholders, including customers
• Follow existing Insurity standards for coding and documentation (or set new standards where needed)

Who We’re Looking For

• Recommended: Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development
• Web Development skills (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) coupled with Strong SQL experience
• Object Oriented Programming language experience (.NET – C# or VB, JAVA, C++)
• Ability to provide technical guidance to team members
• Strong written and oral English communication skills with an ability to facilitate meetings, present information to a variety of audiences and explain complex/technical items in simple terms
• Comfortable to take calls for item resolution if necessary
• Ability to travel up to 10% (travel is minimal)

Nice To Have

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or similar
• Experience with Visual Studio, MS Office, Scrum/agile tools (JIRA)
