Job summary

Enveu is seeking a Software Engineer - Android TV in India to build TV apps using Kotlin/Java, optimize Media3/ExoPlayer, and implement Widevine DRM. You’ll work on D-pad navigation, Leanback/Jetpack Compose, and TV app performance across devices, collaborating with product, UI/UX, backend, QA, and DevOps teams.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of Android experience, hands-on OTT/video streaming know-how, and a passion for delivering media experiences on Web, Mobile, and Connected TV platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience with OTT, video streaming, or media applications and DRM.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android TV applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Build TV-optimized UI with Jetpack Compose for Android TV or Leanback.
• Implement D-pad, remote navigation, and focus management.
• Integrate and optimize Media3 / ExoPlayer and other Player SDKs.
• Implement HLS/DASH streaming and Widevine DRM.
• Integrate REST APIs and use Coroutines & Flow.
• Follow MVVM / Clean Architecture and use Hilt/Dagger.
• Debug and optimize performance across Android TV devices.
• Collaborate with Product, UI/UX, Backend, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in code reviews and production issue resolution.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer - Android TV with 2-4 years of hands-on Android development experience , including strong expertise in Android TV and OTT/video streaming applications .

The ideal candidate should have experience building TV applications, integrating media players and streaming protocols, implementing DRM, and handling D-pad/remote navigation and focus management .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android TV applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Build TV-optimized UI using Jetpack Compose for Android TV and/or Leanback .
• Implement D-pad, remote navigation, and focus management .
• Integrate and optimize Media3 / ExoPlayer and other Player SDKs.
• Implement HLS/DASH streaming and Widevine DRM .
