Position Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Android Developer with a strong background in IPTV and Android Set-Top Box (STB) development. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years in Android development with specific expertise in building media streaming apps for television and STB environments. You will lead the development of robust, scalable Android applications for live and VOD streaming.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop high-performance Android applications for IPTV and STB environments.
Customize Android AOSP or Android TV Launcher for seamless navigation and media experience.
Integrate ExoPlayer/Media3, CDN SDKs, and DRM for content security and performance.
Collaborate with product teams to define technical solutions and delivery timelines.
Troubleshoot and optimize performance on resource-constrained STB hardware.
Implement CI/CD pipelines, and support QA and deployment processes.
Stay updated on the latest trends in Android TV, Fire TV, and OTT platforms.

Required Skills

7+ years of Android development, with 3+ years focused on IPTV or Android STB applications.
Proficient in Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android SDK.
Hands-on experience with Media3, ExoPlayer, streaming protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH).
Experience working with AOSP, custom launchers, and Android TV Operator Tier.
Experience working with FCM, Retrofit, WebSocket, and OTT APIs.
Knowledge of Hilt DI, Clean Architecture (MVVM/MVP), and dependency injection.
Experience working on multicast streams will be an added advantage
Hands-on with CI/CD (Jenkins), SonarQube, and build optimization.
Ability to solve complex Android solutions - TVS / STBs / Dongles / Apps with a variety of integrations from Media backends, libraries, OSS / BSS Systems and AI
Ability to design, develop, integrate, optimize, and debug Android applications on Mobile and STB (ATV Apps, HDMI Dongles, Hybrid STBs etc).
Previous experience in developing custom launchers and apps for STBs is a plus (ATV / AOSP)
